David Sheinberg, MD, PhD

David A. Scheinberg, MD, PhD, is Vincent Astor Chair and Deputy Director for Therapeutic Discovery at the Sloan Kettering Institute. He founded and chairs the Center for Experimental Therapeutics and is Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology at Weill Cornell Medical College and the Gerstner-Sloan Kettering Graduate School. He is also a founder and board chair of the Therapeutics Discovery Institute.
A physician-scientist, he specializes in leukemia and the development of novel cancer therapies. His research focuses on immunotherapeutic approaches, including monoclonal antibodies, TCRs and TCR mimics, targeted radiopharmaceuticals, and cancer vaccines, as well as mechanisms of antigen presentation. Several agents developed in his laboratory have advanced to clinical trials, including early targeted alpha particle therapies and vaccines targeting oncogenic proteins. Dr. Scheinberg is a member of the ASCI and AAP and has received numerous honors, including the Doris Duke Distinguished Clinical Science Professorship and NCI Outstanding Investigator Award. He has published more than 350 papers and holds over 40 U.S. patents.
