Liang Dong, PhD, is a Senior Scientific Editor for Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, the Academy’s scientific journal with a history spanning more than 200 years. In this role, he oversees the peer review and publication of high-impact papers across a wide range of scientific disciplines. Previously, he served as a Senior Program Manager for the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists, where he led the Academy’s flagship awards program in physical sciences and engineering across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Israel.

Dr. Dong earned his PhD in physics from the University of Connecticut and his BS in optical science and engineering from Fudan University in China. Before joining the Academy, he completed postdoctoral training in materials science at the University of Pennsylvania. His research expertise centers on novel materials for next-generation electronic and chemical applications.
