Qiang Gao, MD, PhD, Director of the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Transplantation and Assistant President of Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University. He is Secretary-General of the Liver Cancer Expert Committee of CSCO and Leader of the Hepatobiliary Youth Group of CCS. His research focuses on cancer immunotherapy, with particular emphasis on novel therapeutic targets, treatment strategies, and immunotherapeutic mechanisms. As first or corresponding author, he has published a series of articles in Nature, Science, Cell, NEJM, and other leading journals, and has undertaken numerous research projects, including the National Science and Technology Innovation Major Project and the Major Plan of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He has identified several brand-new anti-tumor therapeutic targets and developed first-in-class therapies. He has been named a "Highly Cited Chinese Researcher" by Elsevier and is a recipient of the Scientific Exploration Award. He serves on the editorial boards of Cancer Discovery, Developmental Cell, Hepatology, Vita, and Cancer Letters, and has been invited to contribute commentaries and reviews to Nature Reviews, Cancer Discovery, Cancer Cell, and Cell Metabolism.
